Message from the WREAA President

Dear Alumni and Friends,

What a wonderful Biennial!  Engaging and timely keynote and panel speakers, deserving honorees, terrific venues and weather, and record attendance!  Great to see so many alums, students, faculty, and friends of the program share in the experience, renew friendships, and establish new ones.  On behalf of all who attended, I extend a big thank you to our conference co-chairs Katie Bergen (CenterSquare) and Michael Zelin (Eastdil Secured), the WREAA staff led by Executive Director Chris Dicks, and our generous corporate, event, and patron sponsors!

This is without a doubt the most exciting and promise-filled time to be connected with the Wisconsin real estate program that we’ve enjoyed in the last several years.  You can be proud of our incredibly strong faculty lead by energetic department chair Tim Riddiough, a one-of-a-kind combination of academic and industry leadership in Andra Ghent and Mark Eppli at the Graaskamp Center, the anticipated Fall 2019 return of the MS program, and planning underway to create a real estate PE fund managed by UW students, faculty, and alums.  Additionally, the program curriculum will be evaluated and tailored to ensure that our students are graduating with the knowledge and skills most sought after by employers.

WREAA is and will continue to be a key player in making all of this happen.  Our leadership and funds in partnership with the School of Business and Wisconsin Realtors Association helped accomplish the hiring of Mark Eppli, and we will be actively involved in both the MS and PE fund initiatives.  So, if you’ve wondered about the impact and value of your WREAA membership and sponsorship on the Wisconsin real estate program, wonder no more.  Without your support we simply can’t help make these critical program-altering initiatives happen or continue our annual financial support of the faculty, students, and regional networking events.

So please stay engaged!  Your continued involvement with WREAA and the UW real estate program by participating in and bringing a fellow alum or guest to regional events, mentoring a student or a recent graduate, recruiting an undergrad or grad student (both to your company and the UW), investing in the PE fund or welcoming an investment by the fund in your project, and renewing you membership and sponsorship is hugely impactful and will help us take WREAA and the UW real estate program to new heights.

On Wisconsin!
